Mere Literary Festival announce a change to its competition from annual to biennial.
Due to an unforeseen change in circumstances, the organisers of Mere Literary Festival have decided to run a biennial poetry competition rather than the present annual one which has alternated between short story and poetry.
Regretfully this means no short story competition in 2010 as previously announced. Mere Literary Festival is sorry to disappoint short story writers but feel this decision will best ensure the future of the festival which plays an important part in the community of Mere and helps fund the local charity Linkscheme.
Thanks go to all writers, readers and judges who have supported the story competition in the past.
The 2010 Mere Literary Festival will take place October 11th – 17th and the next competition will be for poetry in 2011.
